Media Announcement for Mast and Falls Interior Design:

Mast & Falls Featured in Design New England

Boston, MA: The Concord and Newton based Interior Design Firm, Mast and Falls Interior Design, LLC is delighted to announce the inclusion of their design work in the featured article, “A BIG MOVE” in Design New England’s January/February issue. The designers worked closely with the homeowners and Architect Richard Levy of RBL Architects to create a newly crafted home that perfectly suited the client’s lifestyle and aesthetic, while providing the perfect space to showcase the couples’ colorful and unique art collection. The stunning new construction, contemporary residence is a beautiful, 5400 square feet glass and cedar clapboard structure, with a fluid, open and airy floorplan. The 16 foot ceilings and folding glass doors that open up onto a lovely, wide view of adjacent conservation land adds to the sense of dynamic and expansive space.

Mast and Falls used bold colors, and sleek, modern materials and finishes to reinforce the clean, minimalist, yet striking aesthetic the couple were looking to achieve. Highly custom design features, such as a double-sided open fireplace, providing heat and a focal point to two large rooms, and a sliding gallery wall that hides a large screen TV, completed the homeowners desire for a truly authentically curated and special home. The largely black, white and grey palette was highlighted by punches of bold, bright blues, purples, and reds. As Julie Hatfield of Design New England writes about the interior design, “The furnishings are just as new and contemporary in style as the house itself, with a wood and steel dining table by Boston artist Paul Walcott, metal chairs that are quirky enough to be considered part of the art collection, polka-dot upholstered pieces, and more color in the great room than was ever seen in the old Victorian.”

For the designers, Katharine Mast and Sue Falls, creating dream homes for their clients is the most important story of all.
